    What is the Pyramid Model?

Funded by The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation, the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children is a conceptual framework of evidence-based practices developed by two national, federally-funded research and training centers: The Center for the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) and TACSEI. These centers’ faculty represent nationally recognized researchers and program developers in the areas of social skills and challenging behavior. Based on evaluation data over the last eight years, the Pyramid Model has shown to be a sound framework for early care and education systems. Extensive training materials, videos, and print resources to help states, communities and programs implement the model have been developed.

The Pre-school/Pre-K, Kindergarten modules are designed for teachers who work with children from three to five years of age. It teaches life-changing strategies for all who work with young children. It also helps teachers support children in a new way to avoid challenging behaviors before they start.

    Practice-Based Coaching

Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) is a critical component to implementing the Pyramid Model to fidelity. To build capacity within Pyramid Model implementation programs each program has identified internal coaches so they can provide coaching support within their own organizations. To date, a total of 138 childcare and school district representatives have received PBC training.

Through our faith and service, we can change the face of the earth.
