Niagara Falls Local Food Action Plan

    Imapge NFLAP

Developed by The Create a Healthier Niagara Falls Collaborative & The Healthy Food Healthy People Work Group, the Niagara Falls Local Food Action Plan (NFLFAP) addresses the concerns of the quality, variety and accessibility of food for the residents of Niagara Falls. Several neighborhoods in the city are considered food deserts, meaning that there is limited access to fresh produce.

    The Plan

The Niagara Falls Local Food Action Plan is a roadmap for improving the entire food system, from production to consumption, in the city of Niagara Falls. The NFLFAP includes 41 action items that will provide residents of Niagara Falls better access to nutritious, affordable food. These items also promote long-term health outcomes for the city of Niagara Falls

The framework of the plan is organized into the following 4 priority areas: Agriculture, Healthy Neighborhoods, Education, and Economic Development.
