IMPACT

We Are Making an IMPACT

IMPACT is more than just a word. It stands for Innovative Mission Projects Accelerating Community Transformation (IMPACT).

At the heart of IMPACT’s mission is the advancement of the culture of civic and community engagement that exists at NU through closer alignment with the university’s Vincentian mission and Strategic Vision commitments. The model accentuates career preparation and workforce development through service. Broad integration of civic and community engagement into the university’s academic curricula leverages the expertise of NU professors and strengthens the University-Community partnership.

Through the Office of IMPACT, Niagara University promotes a model of mission driven change through project based learning, leadership, and civic engagement to address critical community needs. The office works closely with faculty, staff, students, campus groups, school districts, community partners, and businesses.

The IMPACT office is responsible for the collection of data and for reporting the economic value of service provided by Niagara University student clubs and organizations. The economic impact value of service is calculated based on the number of collective volunteer hours the students, faculty and staff contribute in local communities based on Federal guidelines for service hours.

Our Four Components

  2. Planning – Students will assess the needs of the community and come up with ideas that will benefit everyone.
  3. Implementation – Students will put their plans of action in place for betterment of community
  4. Assessment – Students will reflect on their action and discuss how much of an impact they made on a community.
